Trout

“Keep your head on the ball. You’ve got to hit it first, then look where it goes.”

Mike Trout

Mike Trout was taken by the Angels in the first round of the 2009 Amateur Draft. He was the 25th player selected. Trout was the American League Rookie of the Year in 2012. He has won three American League Most Valuable Player Awards (2014, 2016, and 2019!). Trout also has finished second in the voting four times! Mike Trout is a nine-time All-Star and an eight time Silver Slugger Award winner. Mike Trout grew up in South Jersey and was a Philadelphia Phillie fan.

Mike Trout is 30 years-old, and even if he retired today, he would rank among the all-time greats! He has an incredible combination of power and speed while also hitting for average! He also plays a fine center field for the Angels! The Angels have not had good pitching and have played very few post season games during Mike Trout’s time there. However, this year may be different because they are playing well, and Trout is off to a great start. A calf injury forced him to miss most of last season. It would be great if Mike Trout gets a chance to do in the post season what he has done in the regular season all these years – and that is to excel!
